This Nikon S9100 Review will be written from the perceptive of a person who only has the most limited knowledge of digital camera, in other words, an amateur.
I bought my Nikon S9100 of amazon.com, and after waiting about three days, it arrived in the mail. The Nikon S9100 comes in three colors, a black, a pinkish red, and a silver. The one I ordered was black, and the one that came out of the box was also black, so we were off to a good start. Along with the camera, the box also contained a user’s guide, some warranty information, a computer cd, a carrying strap, a rechargable battery, and a bunch of cables.
For my Nikon S9100 Review, I didn’t need the warranty information, so I set that aside. I flipped through the user’s guide, but it was complicated and large and I quickly lost interest. Instead, I figured I would just figure it out as I went.
Now I should mention here that, again, I am an writing this Nikon S9100 Review as an amateur when it comes to cameras, and that I am only intending to use this for taking vacation pictures. I am not going to be doing video editing, or any kind of artistic photography. I will be taking pictures of land marks in Paris with it, maybe some sunsets or sunrises, and I will be asking people to take pictures of me and my wife.
So I poked some buttons, and surprisingly, the menu was actually pretty intuitive. Of course, I had no idea what several of the things did, but after only playing with it for a couple of minutes, I discovered how to do most of the things I wanted to do. Mainly, take pictures, and then view said pictures. That is after all what this Nikon S9100 Review is all about.
So now, after checking the settings to make sure nothing was weird there, I was ready to take some pictures. I started with something simple, my microwave. A couple of pictures later and I was done, I viewed my pictures and learned three things. One, that pictures of a microwave are boring, two, that despite that, they still looked nice, and that three, the Display on the back of the camera looks really nice.
Moving on, I decided to take some pictures in less than perfect conditions, I turned of the kitchen’s overhead light, but left the smaller one over the sink on, and I also left the blinds open, so while the room was darker, it was pitch black. And my subject for this part of the Nikon S9100 Review was my dog, Superman, a lhasa apso. I threw some toys around and tried to get pictures of him running around while using the camera with one hand. It took a while to get used to things, but I eventually got it down.
I generally got good pictures of Superman as he ran about under the table. The flash was enough to get pictures within the darkened room. And, I even played around with the zoom, which is an 18X optical zoom, whatever that means. It did allow me to get some amazing close up shots of Superman as he chewed the life out of a stuffed bunny. good and easy to use camera
All in all, for this Nikon S9100 Review, I’ve concluded that the Nikon S9100 is a, and I look forward to writing a follow up review when I get back from Paris.
